Specialised in large and complex international arbitrations (ICC, ad hoc, ICSID, GAFTA, and LCIA); Involved a broad range of industries (e.g. energy, oil & gas, construction, hotel management, mergers and acquisitions, agency and distribution agreements) and, in particular, relating to a number of Arab and Middle Eastern countries (Algeria, Iran, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Yemen and the UAE); Extensive experience in acting as counsel in international arbitrations both against, and on behalf of, sovereign States and State-owned entities (including before ICSID) as well as in claims brought under bilateral investment treaties; Involvement in advisory work on privatisation matters as well as commercial and foreign investment transactions involving States and State-owned entities.
